NTPC Regional Executive Director (North) Visits Singrauli Project, Reviews Development and Welfare Initiatives

Sonbhadra:Divakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (North) of NTPC and Chief Executive Officer of NSPCL, concluded a two-day visit to NTPC Singrauli on June 11 and 12, during which he reviewed key operational activities, infrastructure development projects, employee welfare initiatives, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

During the visit, Kaushik inspected several critical facilities, including the Stage-III project area, Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) installation site, Unit-1 Control Room, and the Stage-I Coal Stack Yard. He received detailed briefings on plant operations, maintenance practices, environmental compliance measures, and capacity enhancement initiatives. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining high operational standards, he appreciated the efforts of the project team in ensuring efficient and reliable power generation.

As part of his itinerary, Kaushik also visited Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), where he held discussions with senior officials on various operational and coordination matters. The deliberations focused on strengthening collaboration and enhancing synergy between the two organizations.

Meanwhile, Seema Kaushik, Chairperson of Uttara Club, Lucknow, visited welfare institutions operated by Vanita Samaj, Shaktinagar, including Vanita Rasoi, Vatsalya Crèche, Tiny Tots, Bal Bhavan, and the Welfare Shop. She lauded the organizations for their significant contributions to women and child welfare and felicitated women actively engaged in welfare activities. She highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering community participation, self-reliance, and social sensitivity.

A key highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the newly established IT Conference Hall within the project premises by Kaushik. He later chaired a meeting with members of the Safety Management Committee (SMC), reviewing matters related to workplace safety and operational excellence. He also interacted with representatives of employee unions and associations, discussing workforce concerns and suggestions aimed at further improving the work environment.

In the evening, Kaushik inaugurated the newly constructed “Prithvi Bhavan” guest house and dedicated a modern gymnasium at the stadium complex. He stated that the development of quality facilities for employees and their families remains a priority for NTPC and that such initiatives contribute significantly to better health, well-being, and quality of life.

Under NTPC’s CSR programme, Kaushik distributed bicycles to girls from nearby rural communities as part of a girl empowerment initiative. He emphasized that education is the foundation of an empowered society and noted that the programme would encourage girls to pursue education while enhancing their confidence and self-reliance.

He also attended the cultural programme organized under the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM)-2026 at the Employee Development Centre (EDC). Appreciating the performances by participating girls, he remarked that the initiative serves as an excellent platform for nurturing leadership qualities, confidence, and creative talent among young women. He extended his best wishes for their future success.

Demonstrating his commitment to environmental sustainability, Kaushik, along with his family, planted saplings at the project guest house premises, reinforcing the message of environmental conservation and green development.

The visit was successfully organized under the leadership of  E. Prabhakar Rao, Project Head and Executive Director, NTPC Singrauli, and E. Nirmala, Chairperson of Vanita Samaj, with support from senior officials including C.H. Kishore Kumar, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), and  Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty, General Manager (Projects).

The visit further reinforced NTPC Singrauli’s commitment to operational excellence, employee welfare, social responsibility, and sustainable development, while providing fresh momentum to ongoing developmental and community-focused initiatives.
